Nobiletin is a flavonoid isolated from citrus peels. It is an O-methylated flavone that has the activity to rescue
bulbectomy-induced memory impairment.
Nobiletin was found to have anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor invasion, proliferation, and metastasis in vitro and in vivo. Nobiletin was also found to potentially inhibit cartilage degradation.
Nobiletin was shown to augment AMPA receptor activity and long-term potentiation in cell culture.
Function
1. Increases blood flow.
2. Increases the rate at which brain cells produce ATP (which is a cell molecule that creates energy).
3. Speeds up the use of glucose in the brain. Regulates Sodium/ Potassium channels.
4. Speeds up the use of oxygen in the brain.
5. Vinpocetine increases levels of neurotransmitters involved in memory.
