According to the provisions of GB17440 which illustrate "Grain processing, storage and transportation system dust explosion-proof safety Regulations", the silo belongs to the dust explosion-proof 20 zone environment in China. Therefore, the electrical equipment in the silo needs to meet the relevant requirements of the dust explosion-proof 20 zone environment. At present, most of the motors of the conventional sweep augers on the market are installed inside of the silo. These products need to equip with dust explosion-proof 20 zone motors according to the regulations. However, there are no dust explosion-proof 20 zone motor products available domestically and internationally. Lots of companies have to use sweep auger products with dust explosion-proof 21 zone motor. There are certain safety risks.
Therefore, how to prevent the safety hazard from placing equipment equipped with electric motor in silos has became an important technical problem for many technicians in this field.
