Tetramethylammonium hydroxide is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H13NO, which is mainly used for polarographic analysis. It is a strong base with strong alkalinity. It is used as a catalyst in silicone to promote the synthesis of dimethyl silicone oil, benzyl silicone oil, silicone diffusion pump oil, solvent-free silicone molding plastics, silicone resin silicone rubber, etc. The physical and chemical properties of tetramethylammonium hydroxide enable it to remain stable at high temperatures. It has good solubility and conductivity, and can dissolve many organic substances such as fatty acids, fatty alcohols and amino acids. In addition, it also has good surface activity, can reduce surface tension, and play a role in the fields of surfactants, emulsifiers and surface coatings. Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, tetramethylammonium hydroxide has a wide range of applications in chemical synthesis, catalytic reactions and electrochemistry.
