Slicon Carbide Introduction

Black silicon carbide (SIC) is made from quartz sand and carbon( anthracite coal tar or petroleum coke) in electric esistance furnace at high temperature. It has the characteristic of high hardness, excellent electrical and heat conductivity, low thermal expansion, and high abrasion resistance. 

Emery granules is also called silicon carbide, it is made from the high temperature calcination of silicon sand, petroleum coke and wood chips. Sizes: 1-6 mesh, 6-10 mesh, 20-40 mesh, 60-80 mesh, 80-120 mesh.

Silicon Carbide Powder Feature

1.Good oxidation resistance and chemical stability at high temperatures.
2.High hardness with Mohs 9.2-9.3. Even at 2000ºC, it's still get high strength.
3.Excellent toughness.
4.Low thermal conductivity. So it can resistant to themal shock.
5.High purity min SiC content is 98.5%.
6.High bulk density.
7.Black silicon carbide grit is washed by water before milling process, so there is few impurities.
