CTV 175 tempered glass insulator is widely used in 10 kV to 66 kV power transmission lines. It features a nominal diameter of 175 mm, height of 110 mm, creepage distance of 185 mm, coupling size of 11A (11 mm), and a minimum mechanical damage load of 40 kN. The insulator weighs approximately 1.7 kg.
In some markets, the CTV 175 tempered glass insulator is also known as the U40B glass insulator. Its primary market is Africa, particularly Algeria.
The U40B is a glass suspension disc insulator with a mechanical failing load of 40 kN, designed by IEC standards. It features a nominal diameter of 178 mm, a nominal spacing of 110 mm, a nominal creepage distance of 185 mm, and a weight of only 2.1 kg.
U40B Glass Insulator has become popular in transmission and distribution system. Annealed tough glass is used for insulating purpose. Glass insulator has numbers of advantages over conventional porcelain insulator.

- Three or five glass insulators are arranged in a string, and two strings are crossed and fixed in wooden boxes to ensure that they will not be bumped or damaged during transportation.
- Wooden boxes are evenly stacked on pallets and secured with plastic strapping.
- The pallet itself can be stacked to ensure optimal utilization of space during transportation and storage.
- All wooden strips of wooden boxes and pallets have undergone high-temperature fumigation treatment.
