Direct burial stiffness test marking
Finished liquid-tight flexible metal conduit that complies with the test in Clause 7.2.9 may be surface marked "Direct Burial", "Burial", "Dir Burial", or "Dir Bur".
6.2 Marking on coils, reels, or cartons
Each coil, reel, or carton of flexible metal conduit and liquid-tight flexible metal conduit shall be tagged
or marked to indicate plainly the following:
a) the manufacturer's identification;
b) the date of manufacture or the dating period of manufacture. The dating period shall not exceed
any three consecutive calendar months. The date or dating period may be abbreviated or coded;
c) the metric designator trade size of the conduit, e.g., 16 (1/2);
d) for 10 (5/16) and 14 (7/16) flexible metal conduit, the words "SPECIAL PURPOSE"*;
e) for liquid-tight flexible metal conduit, the dry ("60 °C", "75 °C" or "105 °C", as applicable),
oil ("60 °C", "75 °C", or in accordance with Clause 6.1.8), and low temperature rating (in accordance
with Table 9) of the thermoplastic jacket; and
f) the words "BONDING CONDUCTOR REQUIRED - CONDUCTEUR DE CONTINUITÉ DES MASSES
OBLIGATOIRE".
