I. Overview
The MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) integrated wastewater treatment equipment is an advanced, efficient wastewater treatment solution developed by our company, based on the European MBBR technology. The principle of the MBBR process involves adding a certain quantity of suspended carriers to the reactor, which increases the biomass and variety of microorganisms within the reactor, thereby enhancing treatment efficiency. Because the carrier density is close to that of water, it remains in a fully mixed state during aeration, creating a three-phase environment of gas, liquid, and solid for microbial growth. The collision and shear effects of the carriers in the water create finer air bubbles, increasing oxygen utilization. Moreover, each carrier supports different types of microorganisms on its inner and outer surfaces. Anaerobic or facultative bacteria grow inside, while aerobic bacteria grow on the outside. This setup allows both nitrification and denitrification reactions to occur simultaneously, improving treatment performance. The MBBR process relies on the aeration and uplift within the aeration tank to keep the carriers in a fluidized state, forming both suspended activated sludge and attached biofilm. This means that the entire reactor space is utilized by the moving biofilm, with the suspended carriers frequently and repeatedly contacting the wastewater, hence the term "moving biofilm."

III. Equipment Advantages

1. Effective Nitrogen Removal: The carriers create aerobic, anoxic, and anaerobic environments, allowing nitrification and denitrification reactions to occur within a single reactor, which enhances the removal of ammonia nitrogen.
2. Efficient Organic Matter Removal: The reactor operates with a high sludge concentration, typically 5-10 times that of conventional activated sludge processes, reaching up to 30-40 g/L.   This increases the efficiency of organic matter treatment and improves shock load resistance.
3. Ease of Maintenance and Management: No need for carrier supports in the aeration tank simplifies maintenance of both the carriers and the aeration devices at the tank bottom.
4. Enhanced Carrier Performance: Zhong Qiao Enlightenment has extensively studied the chemical properties and shedding mechanisms of carrier surfaces. By increasing the specific surface area and using active carbon, starch, and gelatin as biological additives, the floating carriers enhance microbial growth and reproduction.
5. Versatile Process Combinations: The multi-stage MBBR, MBBR, and A/O (Anaerobic/Oxic) combined processes each offer unique advantages, and various combinations of these processes have been practically applied.
