Descaling Cleaning Pig can not only remove the accumulated liquid in the pipe. But also remove the solid impurities. In addition, we install steel brushes and scrapers as required to enhance the pigging effect. The mechanical pig has a long service life and can generally run for 800 ~ 1000 km. And it can be installed with tracking equipment, caliper plate, magnet, etc.
The disadvantage is that the trafficability is slightly poor. And it is not suitable for pipelines with multiple valves and large deformation. The mechanical pigs of our company are mainly cup pigs and bi-di disc pigs. The interference of the cup pig is generally 3%~5% of the pipe diameter. And the passing capacity is better than that of the disc pigs. The cup pig runs in a fixed direction in the pipeline. It is mainly used to remove the accumulated liquid, dust and other dirt in the pipeline.
Descaling Cleaning Pig has better removal capacity than the cup pig. Especially it can effectively remove the suspended dirt in the pipeline. Compared with the leather cup, the wear is faster. Its running distance is shorter. And the pigging efficiency is better in the short distance pipe section. The disc pig can move in both directions. When the pipeline is put into operation or the pipeline is not pigged for a long time.
BASIS FOR PIG SELECTION:
- Pipe cleanup target. Whether the pipeline is cleaning liquid or solid impurities and dirt. And the amount of dirt is predicted.
- Pipeline life cycle phase. During the construction of new pipelines, it is necessary to clean up the residues. It should remove wax deposition and dirt, medium isolation and corrosion inhibition during pipeline operation.
- Determine the characteristics of driving media for pigging.(oil, water and gas)
- Pig interference. Consider the minimum bending radius and bending angle. And minimum and maximum inner diameter and other factors of the pipeline.
- Pigging process. Drive pressure range value provided by the pipeline. (The maximum allowable operating pressure, operating pressure and temperature parameters of the pipeline change). It should consider the range of possible velocity values for pig operation and the maximum distance for pig operation.
- Size of steel brush and scraper for pig installation. This should be comprehensively considered according to the thickness of wax deposits in the pipeline and the driving force range.
- Mechanical strength. Wear resistance and reactivity of the pig in contact with the medium in the pipeline.
