(3)Combination of this product with glucocorticoids may aggravate gastrointestinal bleeding. Combination with alkaline drugs may reduce the therapeutic effect. (4) Should not be used continuously for more than 5 days. |
| Pharmacological actions | Antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. This product is the salt of calcium aspirin complexed with urea. After oral administration of carbasalate calcium to pigs and chickens, it is rapidly absorbed and hydrolysed to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). Aspirin is rapidly absorbed, metabolised mainly by the liver and rapidly degraded to salicylic acid in the body. This product exerts its antipyretic and analgesic effects mainly through aspirin. |
