Product Description

SHARKXAN^® N viscosifier is a premium grade, clarified xanthan gum used in reservoir drill-in fluid systems to provide superior suspension and hole cleaning, improved hydraulics, reduced torque and drag, and assist in minimizing filtrate invasion. SHARKXAN^® N can provide improved drilling performance, reduced formation damage, lower overall well costs and be used up to 250°F. SHARKXAN^® N biopolymer is subject to bacterial degradation, and treatments with biocide is recommended to prevent fermentation. At mud pH values above 10.0, SHARKXAN^® N becomes more sensitive to soluble calcium and may be precipitated out of solution, however, it can be added to most waters regardless of salinity.

Recommended Treatment

• Add 0.75-2.25 ppb for reservoir drill-in fluids. Add 2.25-3.25 ppb in for milling operations. Hydrating polymer fluids prior to use
