Pure caustic soda is Colorless ,transparent crystals, appear white, block ,flake, bead , easily soluble in water ,can release lots of heat. in water appear alkaline, soluble in ethanol and glycerol, not soluble in acetone ,ether.

Solubility: soluble in water, and strongly exothermic. Dissolved in ethanol and glycerol easily; insoluble in aceton e, ether. Exposed on the air, it will eventually completely dissolved into solution.
