Ivermectin(IVM) is a new type of highly efficient semi synthetic antibiotic that kills insects, mites, and nematodes. It belongs to the category of insect neurotoxins and biological penetrating agents. Ivermectin is a new type of broad-spectrum, efficient, and low toxicity antibiotic type antiparasitic drug, which has good repellent effects on both internal and external parasites, especially nematodes and arthropods. But it is ineffective for tapeworms, flukes, and protozoa. The repellent effect of macrolide antiparasitic drugs on nematodes and arthropods is to increase the inhibitory neurotransmitter of Chemicalbook parasites γ- The release of aminobutyric acid (GABA) and the opening of glutamate controlled Cl ion channels enhance the permeability of the nerve membrane to Cl, thereby blocking the transmission of nerve signals, ultimately leading to nerve paralysis and loss of muscle cell contraction ability, leading to parasite death.
