Azelaic acid, also known as nonanedioic acid, is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid that is found in grains such as wheat,rye, and barley. It is also produced by a type of yeast called Malassezia furfur that is found on the skin of humans and animals.
Azelaic acid is a kind of skin disease prevention and treatment drug, mainly used to treat acne, chloasma and skin melanin deposition. It is also an important organic synthesis intermediate, used in plastics, rubber and other industries to synthesize plasticizer, used in aviation oil for synthesis of low temperature and high speed lubricating oil, electrolytic capacitor manufacturing and other aspects of important applications. The preparation of azelaic acid from unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic acid and corresponding triglycerides such as castor oil and cottonseed oil is the main production method at present
Applications
Cosmetics, Facial Creams and lotions.
1.Industrial:
It is an additive in the production of complex lithium base grease;
(2)The raw material for the production of plasticizer;
(3)It can be used as an intermediate in some new coatings, polyurethane, nylon industry;
(4)It is an additive for capacitive electrolyte with the effect of small current leakage and high spark current.
2. Medicine:
(1) It is used for synthetic dermatological drugs to treat acne;
(2) It can inhibit highly active melanocyte, used in the treatment of black spot disease, malignant nevus, melanoma drugs;
3. Cosmetics:
(1)Regulate oil secretion, inhibit seborrheic sebum and abnormal keratosis process which used for acne removal, balance regulation products.
