Propylene gas is slightly anesthetic. Slightly irritating to skin and mucous membranes. High concentrations of propylene have anesthetic and suffocating properties. Mainly used in laboratories, production of acetone, cumene, isopropyl alcohol, isopropyl halide and isopropyl oxygen, and polymerized propylene plastics.
