1.Introduction
Polyether polyol (polyether for short) is a kind of organic polymer, which is prepared by polymerization reaction of starting agent (compound containing active hydrogen group) with ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO), ethylene oxide butane (BO) and so on in the presence of catalyst.
With glycerin (glycerin) as the starting agent and epoxide (generally PO and EO are used together), all kinds of general polyether polyols are produced by changing the feeding way of PO and EO (mixed or separately added), dosing ratio, feeding order and other conditions.

4.Usage
1. Detergent or defoaming agent:
L61, L64 and F68 are used to prepare synthetic detergents with low foam and high detergency.
L61 and L81 are used as defoamer in paper making or fermentation industry.
F68 is used as a defoamer to prevent air from entering during blood circulation on the artificial heart-lung machine.
2.Excipients and emulsifiers:
Polyether has low toxicity and is often used as drug excipient and emulsifier.
It is often used in oral and nasal sprays, eye and ear drops, and shampoo.
3. Wetting agent
Polyether is an effective wetting agent and can be used in fabric dyeing, photographic development and acid bath electroplating. F68 is used in sugar mills to obtain more sugar due to the increased permeability of water.
4. Antistatic agent
Polyether is a useful antistatic agent, L44 can provide lasting electrostatic protection against synthetic fiber.
5. Dispersant
Polyethers are used as dispersants in emulsion coatings.
F68 ACTS as emulsifier in vinyl acetate emulsion polymerization.
L62, L64 can be used as pesticide emulsifier, coolant and lubricant in metal cutting and grinding.
Used as a lubricant in vulcanized rubber.
6. Demulsifier
Polyether can be used as crude oil demulsifier, L64 and F68 can effectively prevent the formation of hard scale in oil pipeline, and can be used in the recovery of secondary oil.
7. paper additive
Polyether can be used as papermaking assistant, F68 can improve the quality of coated paper effectively.
Also used as a bleaching agent.
8. Preparation and application
Polyether polyol series products are mainly used in the preparation of rigid polyurethane foam, widely used in refrigerators, freezers, refrigerated vehicles, heat insulation boards, pipe insulation and other fields.
The product with low thermal conductivity and stable size is also an important raw material for the preparation of combined polyether.
Production of polyether polyols
In the polyurethane industry, mainly used in polyurethane foam plastics, the main varieties are polyoxyethylene polyols and polytetrahydrofuran polyether polyols.
