It has the characteristics of high output efficiency of Q switch and suitable for repetitive frequency work. It has a high resistance to photodamage threshold, is more stable and durable than dyes and color center saturable absorbers, and can replace electro-optic Q switches to output high-power laser pulses in some cases.
