JECFA confirmed that the ADI value is 0-50mg/(kg body weight·d). The US FDA stipulates the maximum usage of mannitol in various foods as follows: mint 98%, soft candy 40%, hard candy 5%, preserves and ice cream 8%, cough drops 5%, jam and jelly 15%, gum candy 31%, other food 2.5%.
