H11 Tool Steel is a deep-hardening, air-hardening steel that exhibits minimal size change during heat treatment. It contains less vanadium than the widely-used H13 tool steel, the steel has very good toughness, good thermal strength, thermal fatigue properties and a certain wear resistence under the condition of medium temperature.Air quenching under the low austenitizing temperature, heat treatment deformation is small ,tendency to produce iron oxide is small when air quenching, and it can resist erosion of the molten aluminum.

7.Applications of H11 Tool Steel
H11 tool steel is recommended for hot tooling applications where maximum resistance to cracking is required. Such applications include hot punches, die casting dies, forging dies, hot shear blades, hot gripper dies, and extrusion tooling. The tools produced from chromium hot-work steels can be cooled using water without damage as these steels have low carbon and alloy contents. In addition, due to its good medium thermal strength,H11 also has been used as structural parts in manufacture of aircraft and rockets under the working temperature 752~932°F (400~500°C).
