Ultrasonic welding transducer is a device that realizes the mutual conversion between electrical energy and mechanical energy (acoustic vibration) by the piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramics, and is amplified by the front and rear radiation covers with matching acoustic impedance.
Ultrasonic transducers can produce regular vibration under electric field excitation, but the amplitude is generally about 10μm. Such an amplitude is not enough to directly complete the welding and processing procedures.
Since the horn is a passive device, it does not produce vibration itself, but transmits the input vibration after changing the amplitude, completing the impedance transformation.
Therefore, after the transducer is connected with a reasonably designed horn, the amplitude of the ultrasonic wave can be changed in a large range, as long as the material strength is sufficient, the amplitude can exceed 100 μm.
