Wood Grading
Every piece of our wood flooring is made of the finest and unique timber. We grade the timber by the apperance and select to use, e.g. the purer timber with fewer knots are from core of the trunk and ranks high, but it doesn't represent poor quality of the flooring. The rustic grade timber is no less desirable to premium grade, so the choice of grading is purely an aesthetic issue.
Grade AB
Planks with natural texture and slight colour difference. Small amount of light sapwood along the edge of the board are permitted. Tiny live knots add extra natural effect.
Grade ABC
Slight more difference in texture and colour with small live knots and tiny dead knots and well distributed sapwood. Obvious small filled cracks and dark/small streaks.
Grade ABCD
More texture and colour differences with big live knots and more dead knots well distributed. Small filled cracks and dark streaks are also obvious.
