Caramel is a rich deep color, achieved by long time of kiln drying at high temperature, which removes sugar, starch and kills insects and the eggs
of insects from bamboo. Caramel looks like coffee or espresso, appreciated by designers, and compatible with modern interior furnishing.
Unlike horizontal grain, vertical grain doesn't show the wide knots of bamboo, but looks like narrow bamboo strips laminated together to form a
big panel. Each strip roughly 5mm to 6.5mm wide, whereas horizontal grain is made by using 21mm to 21.6mm wide bamboo strips edge glued
to form a big panel. Vertical grain is also called side pressed or narrow grain.
All our bamboo panels come in unfinished, with 180 grit sanding, perfectly smooth on both sides, it is a ready to use material. You as the artist,
can lacquer, oil or stain the bamboo in any colors as you wish. Bamboo is easy to cut and mill, works well with most carpenter tools.
