Such design allowed properly seal cap and housing body to prevent water leakage when you replace cartridge. Pressure gauges help to monitoring your system and to know which filter you need to change and when. The built-in red pressure relief button on the inlet side of the each cap releases pressure in the housing for changing filter cartridges.
