1. Polyurethane: Trimethylolpropane is one of the main raw materials for polyurethane, which can react with isocyanates or organic acid anhydrides to produce polyether polyurethanes. These are used in the preparation of foam plastics, coatings, adhesives, fibers, and elastomers.
2. Base Oil: Due to its low viscosity and stability, trimethylolpropane can be used as a base component for lubricating oils, facilitating the production of lubricants, hydraulic fluids, cutting fluids, and gear oils.
