At many projects of posttension and pretension prestress, smooth steel strand is the most popular steel. The compact steel strand is mostly used for lifting projects and some like nuclear power engineering. Galvanized strand usually applies to bridge tie bar, digging line and external prestressed programmes. The usage of epoxy coated strand is almost alike to that of gavanized strand.
