Turksterone is extracted from the plant Ajuga ciliata Bunge. Ajuga ciliata Bunge is a perennial herb belonging to the family Lamiaceae and the genus Ajuga ciliata. The whole plant of Ajuga sinensis is used as medicine to treat lung heat hemoptysis, bruises, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and other diseases.
