Fluoride reacts with fluorine reagent andlanthanum nitrate in acetate buffer medium with a certain pHvalue to form a blue ternary complex, Within a certain range.the absorbance ofthe complex at a specific wavelength is pro-portional to the fluoride ion concentration, which conforms toLangbeer's law and can quantitatively determine fluoride.
