The Axial water turbine((Kaplan)) is suitable for low and medium heads from 2 to 30 meters.
The runner blades are fixed or adjustable.
The fixed blade propeller water turbine is used for medium and small sites with small variation of head and load, and the Kaplan turbine is used for medium and large sites with large variation of head and load.
Kaplan turbine is the most widely used water turbine for low head run-off-rive small (200KW-3000KW) hydro power plant with its simple structure and big flow discharge capacity.
