Carbonyl sulfide is a colorless, flammable, toxic gas with a smell similar to rotten eggs at normal temperature and pressure. Carbonyl sulfide is mainly used in the synthesis of carbon oxides, thioacids, thiocarbonates and thiazoles, and in the preparation of calibration gases.
