This particular roller, which is smaller in size, is positioned at the top - center of the undercarriage. Its crucial function is to support the rubber track, preventing it from sagging down into the track frame. In the case of these larger models, two top rollers are strategically spaced out. This arrangement not only aids in bearing the weight of the track but also ensures that the track remains on the guiding system.
The blue arrow in the image clearly indicates the installation location of this roller on your Volvo equipment. For the EC290 series, there should be two top rollers on each side, and they are evenly distributed across the top of the undercarriage. The installation process is quite straightforward. No additional hardware is needed. All you have to do is simply unscrew the old roller, insert the new one, and then tighten it.
