How to use urine bag
Connect the urine bag: Securely attach the threaded joint of the urine pipe to the urine collection bag, ensuring a tight connection to prevent any urine leakage.
Hanging urine bag: Suspend the urine collection bag under the bed or in another lower position than the bladder, using a hanging nylon rope or an appropriate holding device.
Open the urination switch: Activate the urination switch on the urine collection bag, allowing urine to flow seamlessly into the bag.
Discharge of urine: When the urine bag is full, begin by washing your hands. Clean the mouth of the urine bag with an alcohol cotton ball, then open it to discharge the urine. After emptying, close the mouth of the urine bag and clean it again with an alcohol cotton ball to prevent infection.
Precautions for bringing urine bags
Keep the urine bag below the bladder level:Ensure the urine bag is always positioned below bladder level to prevent urine reflux, thereby reducing the risk of infection.
Increase the amount of water you drink:It is advisable to consume over 1500ml of water daily to encourage urine production and discharge, reducing the risks of infection and blockage.
Keep local clean: Daily use normal saline to scrub, and iodophor to disinfect the urethral opening and surrounding areas, maintaining cleanliness and dryness to inhibit bacterial growth.
Change the urine bag regularly:Regularly change the urine bag as per the material and doctor's advice to prevent bacterial growth and subsequent infection.
Pay attention to the amount of urine:When the urine in the bag exceeds 700ml, promptly empty it to avoid discomfort or potential infection due to excessive urine.
Fixed urine bag:Secure the urine bag properly to prevent excessive pulling or twisting, which can damage the urethral mucosa.
