Spectinomycin is an aminocyclitol antibiotic used to treat susceptible strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae
Spectinomycin is also used to treat respiratory tract, urinary tract and biliary tract infections caused by sensitive bacteria. The antibacterial spectrum is basically the same as that of tetracycline and oxytetracycline, and the antibacterial activity in vivo and in vitro is stronger than that of tetracycline.
