This monitor is based on the national standard GB 7484-87"Water Quality-Determination of Fluoride lon SelectiveElectrode Method." When the fluoride electrode comes intocontact with a fluoride-containing test solution, the electro-motive force (E) of the cell changes with the activity of fluo-ride ions in the solution, in accordance with the Nernst equa-tion.
