Hoge dichtheid polyethyleen (hoge dichtheid polyethyleen, aangeduid als "hdpe"), ook bekend als lage druk polyethyleen, is een soort van hoge kristalliniteit, niet-polair oppervlak is een zekere mate van doorschijnend. Hdpe is een zeer kristallijne, niet-polaire thermoplastische hars. Polyethyleen met hoge dichtheid is een wit poederkorrelig product, niet-toxisch, smaakloos, dichtheid in het bereik van 0.940 ~ 0.976g/cm3; de kristalliniteit is 80% ~ 90%, het verwekingspunt is 125 ~ 135 ºC, en de gebruikstemperatuur kan 100 ºC bereiken; smelttemperatuur 120 ~ 160 ºC, voor grote moleculaire materialen, het wordt aanbevolen dat het smelttemperatuurbereik tussen 200 ~ 250 ºC.
