Because the chemical composition of malleable cast iron is low carbon, medium silicon and suitable manganese-sulfur ratio, scrap steel can be used as the main raw material, and even steel scraps and iron scraps can be used as raw materials. The sulfur content of malleable cast iron can be relatively higher than that of other cast irons, which is beneficial to the smelting of malleable cast iron in cupolas. Therefore, malleable cast iron castings have the advantages of low cost, high efficiency, uniform quality, mature and easy-to-master technology, stable performance and convenient removal of casting risers.
