Cinnamon oil is a Chinese medicine. It comes from "Supplement to Compendium of Materia Medica". It is an essential oil obtained by steam distillation of cinnamon bark or branches and leaves. The oil yield of bark is 1% to 2%. The oil yield of fresh branches and leaves is 0.3% to 0.4%. It is one of the earliest famous essential oils exported from China. It is a clear liquid of yellow or yellow-brown color, with the special smell of cinnamon bark, sweet and spicy taste. When exposed to air or stored for a long time, its color gradually darkens and its quality gradually thickens. It is slightly soluble in water and can be dissolved in the same volume of alcohol and glacial acetic acid. It is hot in nature. It has the same function as cinnamon. For internal use: boiled water, 0.2 to 1 minute. For external use: massage and apply.
