Tubing Drain is a pressure activated drain used to provide a safe means of draining and removing a tubing string when plugs or pump rods are unable to be retrieved.
Install the drain just above the pump seating nipple in the tubing string for best results, although, this drain may be installed at any desired point in the tubing string.
Caution must be taken not to place wrenches or tongs on the outer shear sleeve which contains the control shears for proper shear operation.
This tubing drain may be set to shear at the desired value by removing or adding the control shear pins.
