Coli 055:b5 lipopolysaccharide (LPS), which is one of the main components of the cell wall of gram negative bacteria. The lipopolysaccharide is composed of lipid A, core polysaccharide and O-polysaccharide side chain. This product is commonly used in in vitro cell activation, endotoxin LAL detection and other fields. Escherichia coli is a gram negative bacterium, which widely exists in human and animal intestines and the environment. According to the different O antigens, E. coli can be divided into different serotypes, of which serotype 055:b5 is a common one. This serotype of E. coli can be extracted by fermentation to obtain 055:b5 lipopolysaccharide. LPS is composed of lipopolysaccharide core, O-specific chain and core polysaccharide. The O-specific chain determines the serotype of lipopolysaccharide. The O-specific chain in LPS of serotype 055:b5 is 055.
