Chrysin belongs to a class of chemicals called flavonoids. It occurs naturally in various plants and substances, such as the passionflower, silver linden, and some geranium species; and in honey and bee propolis (glue). It has a higher content in propolis products.It has a wide range of pharmacological and physiological activities, such as anti-oxidation, anti-tumor, anti-cancer, anti-viral, anti-hypertension, anti-diabetes, anti-bacteria and anti-allergy, etc. Moreover, this compounds are widely distributed in plants with relatively low toxicity, so it is a very important resource in the research and development of new drugs.
