Genistein is a major active factor in soy isoflavones and is the most effective functional ingredient in soy isoflavones with a variety of physiological functions, and is described as an angiogenesis inhibitor and aphid estrogen. It is structurally similar to mammalian estrogen-estradiol and has an active group of estrogen-phenolic hydroxyl group, so genistein has various physiological activities such as estrogenic activity.
Genistein is a naturally occurring compound that is most commonly found in various legumes (commonly soy). This isoflavone and phytoestrogen is a highly regarded skincare ingredient due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
Genistein is also known for providing UV protection, conditioning the skin, and supporting collagen growth, which makes it a very effective component in anti-aging cosmetic products as well as lotions and moisturizers.
