With the RO system, feed water is delivered under pressure through the semi-permeable membrane. The water permeates the minute pores of the membrane, resulting in purified water known as permeate water. Meanwhile, impurities in the water are concentrated in the reject stream and flushed to the drain, which is referred to as concentrate water.
