Composite post insulator is a kind of silicone rubber apparatus insulators. Its design consists of a resin impregnated fiberglass core, a polymeric housing and metallic end fitting attachment devices. Composite station post insulator applies ANSI C29.19 international standard. Polymer or composite station post insulator can have many mechanical loadings: compression, cantilever, tensile and/or torsion, depending on the application.
Application:
Station post insulators are typically used in all standard high-voltage switch and bus applications. They meet or exceed all ANSI standards in both electrical and mechanical characteristics for their voltage class.
- Hydrophobic, silicone polymer for improved contamination performance
- Over-molded design to prevent moisture ingress
- Lightweight, vandalism resistant and price competitive compared to porcelain
