R37-Type
The Style R37 shaft sealing rings are used when additional lubrication is necessary from the outside. These sealing rings are usually fitted in pairs back-to-back, and this combination effectively seals the bearing lubricant and prevents the penetration of dust and splash water. The sealing rings have a peripheral groove on the outer periphery in addition to the radial grooves. With a fabric reinforced static part that is securely joined to the elastomer sealing lip. The sealing lip is also preloaded with a garter spring.

For fabric reinforced seal R37 an axially accessible housing is necessary, as the rings must have low inclination. The Radiamatic 37 rings are supplied with oversize seal width. For reliable function the Radiamatic R rings must be axially compressed to the dimension "L". 
An open housing with cover plate and tightening screws is necessary. Specific deformation forces are necessary for the compression. The cover plate and the tightening screws are to be designed appropriately. Please request recommended values.

To provide effective sealing, radial shaft seals must be installed properly. An experienced installer with suitable tools, working in a clean environment, is recommended to provide proper installation. To facilitate seal installation and to achieve initial lubrication, prior to installation, NextGen Tech recommends wiping the shaft and seal with the lubricant that is going to be retained. While the outside diameter of metal-cased seals can be lightly lubricated to ease installation, the outside diameter of rubber covered seals should always be lubricated.
Seals with an auxiliary, contacting lip can also be filled with grease between the sealing lip and auxiliary lip to reduce frictional moment. This does not apply to silicone rubber seals and seals with hydrodynamic features.
