Spectrophotometric Total Phosphorus Monitoring System with Online Capability

This automatic monitoring instrument is based on the nationalstandard GB11893-89 "Water Quality-Determination of TotalPhosphorus AmmoniumMolybdateSpectrophotometry."Under neutral conditions, potassium persulfate is used to digestthe sample, oxidizing all contained phosphorus to orthophos-phate. In an acidic medium, orthophosphate reacts with ammoni-um molybdate to form phosphomolybdic heteropoly acid in thepresence of antimony salt, which is then immediately reduced byascorbic acid to produce a blue complex with maximum absor-bance at a specific wavelength, allowing for the determination of phosphorus content in water.
