Burst Disc for Liquid Tank:
A Burst Disc, also known as a pressure relief disc, rupture disc, bursting disk, or bursting diaphragm, is a non-reclosing pressure relief safety device that typically protects a pressure vessel, equipment, or system from overpressure or potentially damaging vacuum conditions.
A Burst Disc is a sacrificial component in that it has a one-time-use membrane that fails at a predetermined pressure differential (positive pressure or vacuum) and a certain temperature. The membrane is typically made of metal, but nearly any material can be used to meet a specific application. A Burst Disc provides an instantaneous response (within milliseconds or microseconds for very small sizes) to an increase or decrease in system pressure, but once the disc ruptures, it will not reseal and the disc will need to be replaced. The main advantages of using a Burst Disc over a pressure relief valve include leak prevention, cost, response time, size restrictions, flow area, and ease of maintenance.
