Podophyllum resin is an antiviral agent, and its main components are podophyllotoxin, α-podophyllotoxin, β-podophyllotoxin and 4-norpodophyllotoxin, four lignan components. It can inhibit the mitosis and synthesis of wart virus DNA, kill the virus, and have corrosive and keratolytic effects.
