Vacuum interrupters are ceramic vacuum interrupters, which are mounted on various vacuum circuit breakers, vacuum load break switches and vacuum contactors for rated voltage of 1.14kv-40.5kv. They have been widely used in electric power circuit of industrial departments such as machinery, metallurgy, petroleum, chemistry, mine etc. They are also used in power supply system of rural network and urban network.
Working principle:
Vacuum interrupter is an electrical vacuum device which can close and open a circuit by using a pair of contacts sealed in vacuum vessel where high vacuum is used as insulating medium. When it interrupts a certain current, the current will concentrate on one point or several points of contacts at the moment when moving contact is just separating from fixed contact. Then, the resistance between electrodes increases and temperature rises promptly till electrode metal vaporizes. Meanwhile, high electric intensity is formend which results in intense field emission and breakdown of gap. Thus vacuum arc is formed, when power frequency current is cosed to zero, the plasma of vacuum arc is diffusing quickly in all direction with the increase of clearance between open contacts, after current passing zero, the medium between contacts is rapidly changed from conductor into insulator. Therefore, the current is interrupted and interruption is finished.

Matters need attention
- During mounting and adjusting, it is forbidden to strike or beat the envelop of vacuum interrupter with hard object in order to prevent the interrupter from being leaked caused by broken.
- The coaxiality of vacuum interrupter with conducting pole or the verticality to the surface of its fixed end should be ensured.
- Don't disassemble the vacuum interrupter repeatedly to prevent connecting screw from slipping, there should not be twisting movable conducting pole or excessively compressing the below, to avoid the bellow being out of shape, which may reduce the mechanical life of vacuum interrupters.
Maintenance
- Storage condition:Vacuum interrupter should be stored in the dry room, ventitated and having no corrosive gas, the temperature of the room should be -25ºC~+40ºC.
- The vacuum interrupters stored for long time must be checked periodicallu. If they are in wet or dirty condition, clean them and improve storage condition, if there is any sign of corrosion on the vacuum interrupters, please check them immediately and consult our sales or quality department to verify if the vacuum interrupters can be used or not.
