Appearance (for reference only): Slightly green yellow or yellow viscous liquid. The color gradually darkens when exposed to light. Stable to heat and alkali under anaerobic conditions, unaffected by acid below 100 ºC. It can be slowly oxidized by oxygen in the air, and oxidation accelerates in the presence of iron and silver salts. Easy to dissolve in oil, fats, a-c-e-t-o-n-e, c-h-l-o-r-o-f-o-r-m, ethanol, ether, and other fatty solvents, almost insoluble in water. Relative density (d254) 0.950. Boiling point 200-220 ºC (13.33Pa). The refractive index (n25D) is 1.5045. The maximum absorption wavelength is 294nm (E1% 1cm71).
