There are several safety switches used in the belt conveyor to operate in emergency conditions. Pull Cord Switch is one of them, which operator or user can operate to stop the belt conveyor when an accident occurs.
Since the pull cord switch is a safety switch used to stop the belt conveyor, they are installed or mounted on the side of the conveyor with the pulling rope. If the length of the conveyors is too long then multiple pull cord switches are installed in a way that the pulling rope can be pulled on the conveyor at any point.

Pull Cord Switch Principle:
The Pull Cord Switch is installed at the side of the belt conveyor and the pull cord is mounted along the conveyor. When an accident occurs in the belt conveyor, the worker can stop the belt conveyor at any position by pulling the cord in order to drive the actuating arm rotating.
The rotation may put the torsion spring in motion through the transmission shaft to drive the cam into the displacement. Then it may drive microswitches to cut down the control wiring. Thus the belt conveyor can stop operation

Operation:
Generally, this device is mounted to the stand along the two sides of the conveyor belt.
1. first weld the bracket on the stand, then fix the switch on the bracket.
2. the distance between the two switches is 25-30m, connected with steel wire rope with a plastic coating which dampproof, fireproof and acid&alkali-resistant, keep the rope moderate tight.
3. weld a supporting ring on the stand every 3m to reduce the effect of rope weight itself.
4. for the slope belt, the distance can be shorted appropriately.
Before leaving the factory, the device had equipped the cable with rubber coating, including 6 cores which are yellow.
